  • AARP's Legislative Section is a comprehensive collection of primarily federal and some state legislative analysis.

  • Senate Special Committee on Aging   This is a direct link to the Committee's website. It contains up-to-date information on proceedings, as well as a legislative tracker, information on issues of interest, and a resource for ordering policy monographs.


Advocacy Organizations

  • Alliance for Retired Americans From the website: "A primary objective of the Alliance is to enroll and mobilize retired union members and other senior and community activists into a nationwide grassroots movement advocating a progressive political and social agenda – one that respects work and strengthens families". This is a strong advocacy website oriented primarily to working class people and labor unions.

  • Medicare Rights Center website is broadly focused on Medicare, but it does have a strong policy and advocacy function.

  • National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare  is focused on the preservation and enhancement of these two programs.

  • National Senior Citizens Law Center  promotes the interests of senior and disabled citizens through litigation and policy advocacy. Generally focused on broad justice issues, but the Center also takes individual cases under some circumstances.

  • The Pioneer Network
  • is an inspired group dedicated to reinventing long term care through cultural transformation. "The Pioneer Network supports models where elders live in open, diverse, caring communities." This grassroots movement works to restore dignity to aging through the promotion of humanistic goals in long term care, and creating a sense of community.
